This describes the 14" chop saw and how it is integrated into the shop to handle 20' sections of stock.

The saw vise is normally set to cut perpendicular to the stock but Allen keys are supplied in the base of the saw to alter that angle.

The welding table top is the 'in-feed' table to the saw and a long piece of 2" square tubing is the 'out-feed' table and has a measuring tape applied to it for easy cut measurement. That 'out-feed table' is registered on a specific pin when needed and is stored in the container when not in use.

Two home made addons were created to better utilize the saw; a 'cut stop' and a vise attachment that holds square stock not on its flats but on its edges (diamond position) so that the saw starts a cut on an edge. The rule is to never start a cut on a flat to save the saw blade from premature wear.

The cut stop is positioned once for a given length of cut and used for however many pieces are needed. The 'diamond' attachment slides over the saw's vise to hold square tubing so when viewed on end it is resting on an edge (45 degrees) instead of on a flat side.
