This is an 'orbital' sander in a storage case that automatically moves the sanding disk slightly away from the line your hand is following so as not to gouge the wood. Non orbital sanders force you to provide that motion and that gets tiring.

The filter system works well on its own but does come with an attachment to replace the filter with a vacuum hose attachment.
